I agree
Her gentle, earnest, brother-in-law,
husband of twin, fellow postal worker,
told me she needed help with things
around the house. We were standing
in her driveway, in the miniature sun
of a winter weekend afternoon.
All the kids were playing now, running
around and on the unfinished deck.
Some things are unassailably right:
the triumph of inertia, a crease
of distraction in an aging face.
She was in the house, showering.
